The Daily Drool: Apple Cider Cream Pie

apple cider cream pie

It was another Food and Wine recipe day here at the homestead. I had a ton of leftovers so I decided to make a dessert instead of a meal. And instead of eating some of those two-thousand pounds of leftovers for dinner I had takeout Chinese food (which my stomach nearly immediately regretted).

I’ve had apple cider in the fridge since Snowtober weekend and have been wanting to do some sort of cooking dealio with it. I went with the Apple Cider Cream Pie with cinnamon-sugar whipped cream on top.

There was some cheating that went on. I didn’t make my own dough and just used a pre-bought and pre-made graham cracker crust from Betty Crocker or something. You know, I’m just lazy some days.

The texture of the pie itself was somewhere between a custard and a sponge cake, sweet and tangy. And delicious.

In case time got away from you and didn’t realize it, Thanksgiving is next week. I bet your family and friends would be thrilled if you brought this with you on turkey day. It’s impressive but easy. And it looks beautiful.

Also, I just realized that my blog is being overtaken by The Daily Drool. It can’t be helped, I’m sorry.
