I won a contest by Merrell last month and won $170 to spend on any products in their line. I intended on doing a review since then but wanted to give myself some time to break them in and wear them so I had a better idea about how I felt about them.
First off, they look beautiful. I chose the Barefoot Life Wonder Glove, a casual shoe that looks great with jeans, skirts, and shorts. They are finely crafted and there is great attention to detail in the shoes. From the modified Mary Jane strap that hugs my foot in a sleek diagonal, to the ruching around the elastic band around the back of my heel, these are shoes that are designed for beauty, not just function.
They fit like a glove, they weren’t kidding when they named these shoes. The Barefoot designation is an entire science, which I’m not going to try to explain in this blog post because I’ll botch it up and confuse everyone. Head straight to Merrell’s Barefoot information and learn all about it there. These are the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned and I’ve always been a pretty die-hard Clarks fan. In the future I can definitely see myself checking out the new Merrell line before Clarks. I feel like I’m wearing slippers that have a nice, protective, molded sole. Every day I wear them they become more and more formed to my foot and I can’t sing the praises of this shoe enough.
I wear them for a variety of activities: housework, walking, running with the kids and dog outside, and out and about doing errands. They fit true to size (I am a 7.5). This particular line comes in six colors, including an incredible Guava, which is a bright lime-ish green. Amazing. These particular shoes have a price point of $100.
There is no question that I will purchase Merrell products in the future. Thank you!
Disclaimer: I won these shoes in a contest. Merrell has not paid me to endorse their product and they don’t know who I am outside of some chica who won one of their contests. Thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own and not influenced by anyone else.
