That’s me! If you follow my Instagram feed, you know I’m a fan of self-portraits. I took this one in Longboat Key, FL, on a particularly good hair day. One of these days soon I need to get a quality professional headshot but until then this shall suffice.
A little bit about me without boring you a lot. I am a freelance writer and have been published in online and print publications. A couple names I’ve written for are AOL Travel, Zymurgy, and I contribute as a blogger to Huffington Post and Fig Lancaster.
My Twitter bio says I’m also a “mother, travel lovin’, musically promiscuous, social media junkie, experimenter of food, homebrewer, drinker of fine coffee and craft beer”. That pretty much sums me up.
I recently turned 30 and I’m embracing this decade. I don’t view age as anything but a number that doesn’t do much to actually describe the type of person I am. Life keeps getting better as I age so why would I be upset over it? I recently answered the question, “If you were a beer, what type would you be”, by answering with Belgian dark strong ale. They’re complex, age well, and shipped all over the world.
Tickling My Fancy is my personal outlet to highlight some of the things that make me happiest. You’ll find recipes, food reviews, travel highlights, musical gems, and a few other random items that grab my interest. I enjoy sharing my interests with my readers and hope you all can feel the excitement I have when reading my words and viewing my photographs.
Speaking of photography, I’m a fan of iPhoneography and all the amazing shots and edits that are possible. I have some inspirational friends who are mobile photography geniuses and their shots make me want to continue learning about the art and improving my skills. I had my first mobile photography exhibit this year at The Fridge in Lancaster, PA. It was a success and I sold several framed prints! I’m looking forward to displaying more of my photography in the future.
If you like what you see, I invite you to subscribe to my RSS feed, head to my Facebook page and give it a “like”, or follow me on Twitter. I’m also an avid pinner and you can check out my Pinterest boards if you feel so inclined.
I’m always open to and excited for new clients and if you have a piece that needs written you can send an email my way. A friendly reminder that my time is worth a lot to me so unless it’s for a good cause, my services are not free.
